Abstract

The present research is a surveillance type descriptive study which is done with the purpose of designing and norm finding the emotional styles questionnaire on the basis of Richard Davidson theory. In this research a number of 233 of Allameh Tabatabai’s students (119 women and 114 men) were participated. A questionnaire with the help of review of the literature and in coincidence with Davidson’s neurological theory was provided, and filled by student for the means of data collection. In order to determine the number of factors in questionnaire, exploratory factor analysis by SPSS was used.

The findings of the research are in accordance with answering the research questions, and it showed the questionnaire dimentions Cronbach’s alpha coefficient which is a sign of internal homogeny, was high (between 0.83% and 0.87%). Validity of the questionnaire structure was specified by exploratory factor analysis with varimax method by which 6 factors were identified, included: resilience, time outlook, social intuition, self awareness, sensitivity to context and attention. Also using AMOS software, exploratory factor analysis of these 6 factors, and the results showed that the questionnaire validity is acceptable. On the other hand considering the fact that there is a significant relationship between average scores of men and women students in resilience, time outlook, social intuition, self awareness, sensitivity to context and attention factors , which was determined by independent t test, so these differences should be considered.
